BURLINGTON, Ont. (March 8, 2018) - Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men’s hockey forward Brandon Robinson was named an OUA West Second-Team All-Star on Thursday as the conference announced its major award winners and all-stars.

Robinson, a native of Pickering, Ont., was recognized after he put up the best numbers of his young career during the 2017-18 season. The 6-3, 220 lbs., forward finished the year as the team’s leading scorer as he potted nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points.

Robinson’s nine goals matched his total from his rookie season while his 14 assists set a new career-high after recording just five in his freshman campaign.

A key member of Laurier’s potent powerplay that finished fourth in the OUA in efficiency, the former member of the Kitchener Rangers also netted a trio of tallies with the man-advantage while adding one game-winning goal.

The second year arts major becomes just the second Golden Hawk to be named an all-star in the last five years, joining current teammate Andrew Fritsch who was named to the OUA West second team last season.
