Wilf's Fan of the Game - Christina Laughren-Yates
Golden Hawk fans support men's basketball in their quest for the Wilson Cup

Golden Hawk fans came prepared on Wednesday evening to cheer the men’s basketball team to a playoff win against the McMaster Marauders in the newly re-opened Athletics Complex. The Hawks had their best performance of the season and set a new team record for points scored in a playoff game as they defeated McMaster 102-76.

There were several deserving fans in attendance at Wednesday’s game, but one in particular stood out from the rest. Golden Hawks Alumni, Christina Laughren-Yates brought the KW U12 Vipers boys basketball team to attend the game and support the Hawks. This isn’t the first game that Christina has attended with the Vipers this year, as she continues to be a strong supporter of the team.

Christina also sends her son to the Golden Hawks Basketball Camp and continues to promote the program to other Viper parents. Her attendance and support for the men’s basketball team this year has not gone unnoticed. For this continuous support, Christina took home Wilf’s Fan of the Game and received a t-shirt and gift certificate to Wilf’s Restaurant and Bar.
The Golden Hawks would like to thank all of the dedicated fans from this past season. The men’s basketball team will continue their playoff journey on the road, starting with Brock on Saturday evening. You can catch the game on to follow their quest for the Wilson Cup. Wilf’s Fan of the Game will resume on August 26th to kick off the 2018 football season!
