Golden Hawks look to secure wins against the Waterloo Warriors and the Lakehead Thunderwolves

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men's hockey team will be playing their last two games of the regular season this week as they face off against the Waterloo Warriors and the Lakehead Thunderwolves. With playoff seeding still up for grabs, with the Hawks able to finish anywhere from fourth to seventh in the division, they will be determined to end their six-game losing skid and head into the post-season on a winning note.

First up for the Hawks is the fourth and final meeting in the Battle of Waterloo this season. In a showdown at the Kitchener Auditorium against the Warriors, Laurier will be looking to repeat last season's success at the Aud when they beat Waterloo 5-1.

Laurier then closes out the regular season in Thunder Bay, the hometown of head coach Greg Puhalski, as they look to sweep the season series against the Thunderwolves.

- The Golden Hawks are currently tied for fifth in the OUA West standings with 13-10-3 record and 29 points on the season
- Waterloo enters play this week last in the OUA West standings with 21 points and a 9-14-3 record
- Lakehead currently are two points behindfrom the purple and gold as they sit in sixth in the division with a 11-10-5 record
- The Hawks will undoubtedly attempt to win the season series with Waterloo as they have won two of the three games
- The purple and gold own a two-game winning streak against the Thunderwolves thus far this season  

Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (13-10-3)

G Colin Furlong (Cambridge, Ont.)
-    The veteran goalie played an impressive game on the weekend against Toronto where he saved 36 of the 37 shots on net 
-    The communication study major was the 2016-17 Team's Most Valuable Player
-    Currently fifth in the league in goals against average at 2.45 and ninth in save pecentage at .918

Waterloo Warriors (9-14-3)

F Keigan Goetz (New Hamburg, Ont.)
-    Leads the team with 19 points consisting of 12 goals and seven assists
-    Has had one goal and one assist against the Hawks this season

Lakehead Thunderwolves (11-10-5)

D Jake Ringuette (Goderich, Ont.)
-    Currently has 15 points on the season consisting of three goals and 12 assists
-    The social work major has racked up one goal and one assist against the Hawks
