Women lead the way for MDIST at Don Wright Meet
Golden Hawks capture four medals in London, including pair of gold by Boucher

LONDON, Ont. (January 23, 2018) - The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks indoor middle distance team competed at the Don Wright Meet this past weekend at Western University where the women’s team led the way, capturing four medals in three distances.

Highlighting the performances was third year Bettina Boucher of Whitby, Ont., who won a pair of gold medals. Boucher finished first in the 1500m with a time of four minutes, 46.27 seconds before posting a season-best clocking of 10:09.57 in the 3000m to also win gold.

Teammate Elizabeth Laurie of Kitchener, Ont., joined her on the podium in the 1500m as she crossed the line in 4:49.77 to win bronze.

In the women’s 1000m, Sydney Pattison of Rockwood, Ont., posted a new personal best time of 2:59.60 in the distance as she grabbed a silver medal for the purple and gold.

The Hawks will now move on to prepare for their next meet, the York Open, on Saturday, February 3, their second-to-last meet before the OUA Championships get underway on February 23.
