Golden Hawks surrender three power play goals en route to 4-0 loss to Lancers

WINDSOR, Ont. (November 25, 2017) – The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women’s hockey team suffered their third consecutive loss as they fell 4-0 on the road to the Windsor Lancers.

In a battle between the two lowest ranked teams in the OUA, the Hawks’ special teams let them down as they allowed three power play goals in the contest. Amy Maitre of Maidstone, Ont., Kennedy Snively of LaSalle, Ont., and Taylor Conte of Amherstburg, Ont., all scored with the man advantage to give the Lancers their first regulation victory of the season.

Conte added another marker at even strength while Sydney Dobbin of Oakridge, Ont., had three assists for Windsor.

Cohen Myers of Shakespeare, Ont., got the start in goal for the Hawks and finished the game with 30 saves.

Molly Jenkins of St. Thomas, Ont., picked up the victory for Windsor making 32 saves.

With the loss, Laurier falls to 1-0-7-1 on the season while the Lancers improve to 1-1-8-2.

The Hawks will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Toronto to take on the Varsity Blues (5-0-5-1). Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. at Varsity Arena and the game can be seen live on
