Golden Hawks look to comeback after their 2016-17 playoff loss to the Lancers

THE LOW-DOWN
The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men’s hockey team will be facing off against the Brock Badgers and the Windsor Lancers this weekend where they will look to add to their list of victories.  Saturday's game will mark the first time the Hawks meet the Lancers since they battled Windsor last year in the first round of OUA Playoffs, where the Hawks' were ultimately defeated by the opposing team. 

NEED TO KNOW
- The Golden Hawks are currently in second place in the OUA West standings, with eleven points off a 5-2-1 record
- The Badgers are tied for fifth in the OUA West standings, with six points and a 3-4-2 record 
- With just seven points, the Windsor Lancers are in sixth place in the OUA West standings with a 3-4-1 mark on the season
- Laurier last played both these teams in the 2016-17 season: Against the Badgers the Hawks suffered a 8-4 loss followed by a 4-1 comeback win; the Hawks had won three games against the Lancers, including a 4-3 victory in the first game of the OUA Quarter-Final, before suffering a 1-0 loss followed by a 3-2 overtime loss which ended the Hawks' playoff run.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (5-2-1)

LW Brandon Robinson (Pickering, Ont.)
- The second-year arts major currently has six points on the season 
-  Robinson leads the team with one assist and five goals, one of which is a game-winning goal

Brock Badgers (3-4-2)

F Brandon O’Quinn (Trenton, Ont.)
- The forward leads the team in points
- O’Quinn has collected eight points consisting of four goals and four assists 

Windsor Lancers (3-4-1)

D Kody Gagnon (Belle River, Ont.)
- The defencemen leads the team with seven points on the season 
- Gagnon has recorded three goals and four assists 

Following this, the Hawks will look to head to the Seymour-Hannah Arena where they will play the Brock Badgers again on Friday, November 17 and then are back on home ice to face the Western Mustangs on Saturday, November 18. Puck is set to drop at 7:15 pm (Brock) and 7:07 pm (Western).
