Golden Hawks look to secure two wins as they hit the road for their second week of the regular season

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men’s hockey team will look to rise in the rankings to surpass the Ryerson Rams, who are tied with the Hawks for second place in the OUA West standings. Heading into weekend, the purple and gold will look to maintain the ranks over the Toronto Varsity Blues who are currently third in the standings. 

- The Golden Hawks are currently in a three-way tie for second place in the OUA West standings, with six points off of a 3-1-0 record
- The Ryerson Rams are currently a part of the three-way tie for second place in the OUA West standings with six points and a 3-1-0 record
- With four points to their name, the Toronto Varsity Blues are sitting in third in the OUA West standings with a 2-1-0 mark on the season
- Laurier last played both these teams in the 2016-17 season; the Hawks were victorious with both matchups securing a 1-0 win over Toronto and a 3-2 win over Ryerson.

Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (3-1-0)

RW Christian Mroczkowski (Kitchener, Ont.)
- The third year arts major leads the team in assists, with four to his name resulting in a sixth place ranking in the OUA for assists
- Currently sits second on the team in points with four points
- In last year’s contest against the Ryerson Rams, Mroczkowski came in clutch with an assist to break the tie and propel Laurier to get the win

Ryerson Rams (3-1-0)

F Aaron Armstrong (Teeswater, Ont.)
- The fourth year business management major played a role in one of the Rams’ goals the last time these two teams met with a solid assist
- Currently has five points on the season for one assist, and four goals- one of which is a short-handed goal and another that is a game-winning goal

Toronto Varsity Blues (2-1-0)

D Evan MacEachern (Dartmouth, N.S.)
- The second year kinesiology major is tied as the leader of the team with three points on the season
- MacEachern currently has two goals, one of which is a game-winning goal, and one assist

Next week, the Hawks will play the York Lions on Thursday, November 2nd at 7:07 p.m. on home ice at the Sun Life Financial Arena. Moving onto the weekend, on Saturday, November 4th at 7:00 p.m. the purple and gold will face the Western Mustangs in London, Ont. at the Thompson Arena.
