BURLINGTON, Ont. (October 19, 2017) - Lori Musselman, a fourth year flanker with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women’s rugby team, was recognized as the OUA Russell Division Community Service Award recipient and an OUA All-Star as the conference announced its major award winners and all-stars on Thursday.

Musselman, who serves as the captain for the Golden Hawks, truly puts her heart and soul into everything the team does. She has put a great deal of time and effort into the program, not only helping to support the rookies and younger players, but also in terms of organizing events. She is a true leader in every sense of the word, something that is reflected in her award-winning efforts.

Musselman has also earned OUA All-Star recognition for her on-field performance this season, along with her teammates Shannon Bellamy of Peterborough, Ont., and Michaela Strong of Cobourg, Ont.

All three were recognized as all-stars for the first time in their careers after helping the purple and gold to a 2-2 record during the regular season and the team’s first playoff victory since 2003.
