At the Western Invitational, the Hawks women's cross country team placed sixth and the men's team finished seventh in the team standings.

LONDON, Ont. (September 26, 2017) - The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks cross country teams opened up their 2017 season on Saturday at the Western Invitational where the women’s team finished sixth and the men’s team finished seventh in the team standings.

Competing against 13 other teams, Laurier’s women finished sixth thanks to yet another outstanding afternoon from third year Bettina Boucher of Whitby, Ont. Boucher finished 10th out of 112 runners as she posted a time of 22 minutes, 32 seconds on the six-kilometer course.

In the men’s event, Joe Sheridan of Waterloo, Ont., paced the purple and gold as he crossed the line in 24th place thanks to a time of 26 minutes, 7 seconds.

Laurier’s next meet is the Don Mills Open hosted by the Waterloo Warriors, this Saturday, September 30th.
