U Sports Top 10: MFOOT ranks No.5 in Canada
The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men's football team sustains their national No.5 ranking

WATERLOO (September 19, 2017) – As of Tuesday afternoon, the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks men’s football team have been announced as No.5 in the country following their Week 4 success over the Queen’s Gaels.

After earning a 39-0 victory over the York Lions in Week 1 of the 2017 regular season, the Hawks jumped to No.6 in the country, a title which they held onto despite their bye-week in Week 2. As per Week 3, the Golden Hawks  continued to soar as a top team in the nation. Following the Hawks 38-35 victory against the Carleton Ravens in what was the Hawks' second game of the season, the purple and gold were recognized as No.5 in the nation. Now, the Hawks have held onto their No.5 ranking, thanks to a a 40-17 victory over the Queen's Gaels in Week 4.

The Golden Hawks return to the field this Saturday, September 23rd when they play the No.9 Waterloo Warriors (4-0) at Warrior Field in Waterloo, Ont. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
