On Friday October 30th, Laurier Lettermen traveled to Grand River Hospital in Waterloo to participate in their annual halloween parade trick-or-treating around the hospital for the children in the oncology ward. In total 7 student-athletes,(2 from the Men's Rugby Team, 4 from Women's Rugby. and 1 from Women's Curling) represented Laurier at the event.  Our student-athletes made quick friends with some of the children there and were able to escort them around while they filled up their decorated pillow cases full of all sorts of candy and chocolate! The kids were thrilled to have us athletes there and really helped to brighten their day in the hospital.

It was great expereicne for our student-athletes to be able to go and play some games with kids, and help the nurses and staff with their parade! Our student-athletes each lost an intense match of chess to many of the children.  The opportunity for our student-athletes to give back to our local community not only provided excitement and energry to the children in the hospital, but it provided our student-athletes with an experience they will never forget.

Lettermen will continue this partnership with Grand River Hospital through the year and are looking forward to continually giving back to the community while showing the true spirit of what it means to be a Golden Hawk student-athlete!
