Competitive Dance repeats as Top Overall Team
Laurier puts in excellent showing at Strive competition

With pressure to defend their title of Top Overall Team at the Strive competition this Saturday at the Sanderson Centre, the Competitive Dance Team knew they had to bring the fire. In a day of blood, sweat, and tears, the team was victorious and dominated the competition.

Here are some of the awards from the competition:

2nd Overall Small Group - Go Choreographed by Alessandra Santaguida
4th Overall Small Group - Lift Me Up Choreographed by Rachel Gerber
1st Overall Large Group - Breath of Life Choreographed by Emily Battalia (Top Mark of the Competition)
2nd Overall Large Group - Still In Love Choreographed by Catherine Fitzsimmons and Nadine Marchese
4th Overall Large Group - Teeth Choreographed by Lindsay Riklis and Emily Battalia
1st Overall Extended Line - Never Let Go Choreographed by Alessandra Santaguida and Catherine Fitzsimmons
Choreography Award: Never Let Go- Choreographed by Catherine Fitzsimmons and Alessandra Santaguida
Choreography Award: Blue Ivey- Choreographed by Mitchell Daniels
Choreography Award: Breath of Life- Choreographed by Emily Battalia
Choreography Award: Teeth- Choreographed by Lindsay Riklis and Emily Battalia
Choreography Award: Go- Choreographed by Alessandra Santaguida
Choreography Award: On the Rooftop- Choreographed by Mindy Conto
The team reigned victorious at the competition winning Top Overall Team for the second year in a row. It goes to show that hard work, dedication, and teamwork pays off.

Next week the team will be competing in Brantford at the Sanderson Centre in the Rhythm Dance Competition.
