This Olympic length (50 m) pool features six lanes. It is home to the Laurier Golden Hawk swimming team, the Region of Waterloo (ROW) Swim Club, the Laurier competitive lifeguarding team, prospective National Team members and many previous Olympic swimmers.

The pool provides over thirty hours of recreation programming every week, including lane swimming, and intramurals.

The aquatic programming offered here includes swimming and lifesaving instruction. Private and group lessons are offered to members who would like to learn basic swimming skills or improve their stroke, speed and endurance. Lifesaving instruction courses include the Lifesaving Society first aid courses and National Lifeguard re-certification.

Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

Standard First Aid incorporates all Emergency First Aid. This program is designed for those who require an in-depth understanding of first aid, including legal implications, spinals, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abnormal/chest injuries, burns and medical emergencies.
CPR Level C covers all aspects of CPR skills for aiding adults, children and infants. This program is recognized by the WSIB and satisfies requirements in the Ontario Public Pools regulation. No prerequisite is required and a manual will be provided.

Standard First Aid and CPR Recertification

The recertification program covers all aspects of first aid and CPR. A recertification is required to keep your first aid up-to-date with changes made in the first aid and CPR programs and to ensure skills are kept up to standard.
Course Fee: $70 + HST

NLS Re-cert Course

This is a recertification course for lifeguards wishing to update their current NLS. Please bring proof of old certification to the recert.

Bronze Medallion with Emergency First Aid with CPR-B

Week 1: July 23rd – July 27th 2018  (9:00 am - 4:00 pm)

**BRAND NEW PROGRAM**
Have fun at camp and walk away with certification that can help save lives. One step closer to becoming a certified lifeguard! Participants are provided with the knowledge, skill, fitness and judgement required to respond to complex water rescue situations in a fun filled camp setting. 

In Bronze Medallion participants will learn tows, carries, defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescuers of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types.

Bronze Cross with CPR-C

Week 2: August 27th – 31st 2018 (Bronze Cross with CPR-C)

**BRAND NEW PROGRAM**
Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross candidates will also be certified with CPR-C and program will includes a timed 600 m swim. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard and Instructor certification.

Participants will have the chance to develop team work and communication skills through fun camp-style activities and rock-climb! 100% participation is required.

All Fitness and Recreational classes and instruction require an additional fee to assist with the instructional component to the class. Registration takes place early in the term through an online process.
