Jr. Lifeguard & Swim Camp
Back with a new and exciting programming!
It’s an action-packed aquatic challenge for children who love the water and want more than traditional lessons. This program is ideal for those caught in-between levels or programs, youth who thrive in an energetic learning environment and for those kids who just love camp!
The Jr. Lifeguard and Swim Camp has been redesigned for swimmers to work on developing and improving swim skills such as endurance and stroke technique while also learning about lifesaving skills and knowledge. Campers will also get an introduction to competitive swimming skills and what it takes to be a lifeguard! Campers will participate in a variety of in-pool and dry-land activities that relate to lifesaving and camp fun! There is a day trip to the Waterloo Recreation Complex for swimming and a BBQ lunch on Friday!
Current certified lifeguards and swim instructors will provide instruction and supervision for the camp to be held at the Athletic Complex pool.
There will be a variety of pool sessions that offer a chance to see what real lifeguards do around the Laurier Aquatic Center. Students will work to develop and improve swimming and aquatic skills with emphasis on swimming and lifesaving skills, personal fitness, community education, lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork.
Campers will participate in a variety of dry-land activities that relate to lifesaving and swim development. There is a day trip to the Waterloo Recreation Complex for swimming and a BBQ lunch on Friday!
