Back with a new and exciting programming!
It’s an action-packed aquatic challenge for children who love the water and want more than traditional lessons. This program is ideal for those caught in-between levels or programs, youth who thrive in an energetic learning environment and for those kids who just love camp!
The Junior Lifeguard Camp (JLC) has been The Jr. Lifeguard and Swim Camp has been redesigned for swimmers to work on developing and improving swim skills such as endurance and stroke technique while also learning about lifesaving skills and knowledge. Campers will also get an introduction to competitive swimming skills and what it takes to be a lifeguard! Campers will participate in a variety of in-pool and dry-land activities that relate to lifesaving and camp fun! There is a day trip to the Waterloo Recreation Complex for swimming and a BBQ lunch on Friday!
Current certified lifeguards and swim instructors will provide instruction and supervision for the camp.
Children 7-12 who can swim a minimum of 25 metres and tread water for 2 minutes.
Cost: $240.00 for the week
Fee includes: Friday lunch, camp T-shirt, admission to the Rec Centre, whistle and JLC log book!
The regular camp hours of operation are from
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Extended camp hours are from
4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
(Extended care: $30.00 flat fee per child, per week)
Refund Policy and Notes
In the event that you cancel your child’s camp session, a minimum of 10 days’ notice prior to the start date of the camp is required for a refund, less a $50 administrative fee. Should you fail to give 10 days’ notice, you will be required to pay the full camp fee.
Please make all cheques payable to: WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY. All fees and information must be completed before your application will be processed. Wilfrid Laurier charges $25 for NSF Fees.
Liability Waiver to be read and agreed to during registration:
I give my permission for my son to participate in the Men's Basketball Spring League. We will not hold liable the camp directors, counselors, staff, Wilfrid Laurier University or their staff for any personal theft, illness, or injury sustained while attending
As per the Personal Health Information Protection Act, filling out an OHIP number on a camp application form is voluntary. Should a parent or guardian choose not to supply this information, they should be reachable in the event of an emergency.
