ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Participants ages 7-13 will be divided into three groups according to age and further divided by ability. This will allow the coaches to provide more personal instruction by working with small groups with an upper ratio of 10:1. Camp Fee includes a hockey jersey.
Females may attend with notice to coaching staff Camp takes place at RIM Park in Waterloo (2001 University Avenue East, Waterloo, Ontario) and is run by Golden Hawk men's hockey head coach Greg Puhalski.
Meals can be ordered through RIM Park’s Food Services for an additional cost by calling 519-884-1790. Meal orders should be placed on the Wednesday before the camp starts.
There will be over two and a half hours of ice time divided into two sessions per day. A session will include power skating, teaching individual skills as well as individual and team tactics.
The off-ice program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at RIM Park. Players will be able to participate in a variety of sports and video sessions. Included are areas such as Soccer, Ball Hockey, Cooperative Games, Baseball and Basketball.
Refund Policy and Notes
In the event that you cancel your child’s camp session, a minimum of 10 days notice prior to the start date of the camp is required for a refund, less a $50 administrative fee. Should you fail to give 10 days notice, you will be required to pay the full camp fee.
Please make all cheques payable to: WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY. All fees and information must be completed before your application will be processed. Wilfrid Laurier charges $25 for NSF Fees.
Liability Waiver to be read and agreed to during registration:
I give my permission for my son/daughter to participate in the Hockey School & Sports Camp. We will not hold liable the camp directors, counselors, staff, Wilfrid Laurier University or their staff for any personal theft, illness, or injury sustained while attending.
As per the Personal Health Information Protection Act, filling out an OHIP number on a camp application form is voluntary. Should a parent or guardian choose not to supply this information, they should be reachable in the event of an emergency. I accept my responsibility to abide by the laws of the country, to ensure that I have adequate medical coverage, protect personal possessions, and obey all the rules set out for athletic and recreation activities. I accept full responsibility for my level of participation and use of equipment by exercising my judgment, based on my own experience and competence. In consideration of approval to participate in such activity, I and any personal representative, hold harmless, release and forever discharge Wilfrid Laurier University and Department of Athletics and Recreation, their directors, officers, faculty, staff, students, volunteers, agents, trainees, or employees from any and all actions, causes of actions, claims, and demands for damages, loss or injury, resulting from or arising out of my participation in such activities. I also indemnify and save harmless Wilfrid Laurier University and Department of Athletics and Recreation from any and all actions, causes of actions, demands, expenses or losses whatsoever which they may bear as a result of my participation in such activities, by reason of damage to any and all property and any and all personal injuries, including death of others or myself.
