WATERLOO, Ont. (February 3, 2018) - For the second straight game, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men's hockey team was held off the scoresheet as they lost 1-0 to the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.

The loss was the sixth straight for Laurier, matching their longest losing streak in three years, and leaves the Hawks (13-10-3) stuck on 29 points for the year.

Aidan Wallace (Toronto, Ont.) found the back of the net for Toronto early in the third period for the game's only tally.

It was a busy night for Laurier's Colin Furlong (Cambridge, Ont.) who was very strong for the purple and gold, denying 36 of the 37 shots sent his way.

On the other side of the ice, Varsity Blues netminder Andrew Hunt (Surrey, B.C.) took the win stopping all 23 shots he faced for the shutout.

Next up, the Hawks will head to the Kitchener Auditorium for the final Battle of Waterloo showdown of the 2017-18 season as they face the Waterloo Warriors on Wednesday, February 7.

The puck is set to drop at 7:15 p.m.
