Basketball games against Guelph to move to RIM Park
Doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, February 10 will be played on Sunday, February 11 at RIM Park
WATERLOO, Ont. (February 2, 2018) - Wilfrid Laurier’s Department of Athletics and Recreation announced on Friday that the varsity basketball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, February 10 against the Guelph Gryphons will be moved to Sunday, February 11 and will be hosted at RIM Park.
The change of venue for the games was necessitated by the ongoing repair work on the main court at the Athletic Complex due to flooding last month.
The game times for the doubleheader have also been adjusted due to facility availability at RIM Park. The women’s game will tip off at 12 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 2 p.m.
Both Laurier teams will celebrate Seniors Day against the Gryphons as the team’s graduating players will be recognized for their contributions to the program. The women’s team’s celebration will be held at halftime of their games against Guelph while the men’s team will hold theirs prior to tipoff against the Gryphons.
Fans wishing to attend the games against Guelph are encouraged to purchase their tickets ahead of time by visiting tickets.laurierathletics.com. No webcast will be available of either the women’s or men’s games on OUA.tv due to facility constraints.
Laurier students looking to attend the game can use Grand River Transit to get to RIM Park by taking the 202 route. For more information, visit grt.ca.
