This is Locis’ first time earning Male Athlete of the Week honours in his career at Laurier.
Raines has carried over the success of her rookie season to her sophmore year with the purple and gold and shone for the Hawks at the deBray Division Championship this past weekend. The health sciences major repeated her feat from a year ago as she swept the breaststroke events in St. Catharines, winning the 50-meter, 100-meter and 200-meter races, with her victory in the 200-meter distance coming by almost nine seconds. Raines would add another Top 3 finish in the 400-meter individual medley, posting a time of 5:08.56 before teamming up with her fellow Golden Hawks to finish second in the 4x50-meter medley relay and third in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay.
This is Raines’ third time earning Female Athlete of the Week honours in her career at Laurier, and first time this season.
