Coming into Saturday’s game, the Golden Hawks knew they had to bring a lot of fight in order to take out the Marauders in the OUA semifinal match. After playing McMaster just 2 weeks ago, the Hawks knew their work was cut out for them and they really showed how bad they wanted this game. The Hawks took an early lead against the Marauders during the first half of the game. As they persevered throughout the second half, they were sure to shut the Marauders down with a big win of 19-6.
It was clear that the fans who attended the game this weekend were committed as they bundled up in purple and gold gear to support their Hawks. One fan specifically stood out among the crowd though. Despite the low temperatures, Dylan Methner clearly demonstrated his support during the game as he cheered up on his feet every play of the game. Dylan’s energy was contagious as he supported his brother #65 Myles Methner, and the Laurier Golden Hawks. Due to Dylan's incredible support, he earned the title of Wilf's Fan of the Game and went home with a t-shirt and gift card to Wilf's Restaurant & Bar.
The next chance to win the title of Wilf's Fan of the Game is during the Men’s Basketball Home Opener this Friday, Novemeber 10th against the Ottawa GeeGees at 8pm. Be sure to get your ticket for the big game at tickets.laurierathletics.com.
