MHKY suffers a loss against Western
LONDON, Ont. (November 4, 2017) – Following their win against York, the top tier team in the OUA West, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men's hockey team took an unfortunate 3-2 loss against the Western Mustangs on Saturday night at the Thompson Arena.

Brandon Robinson (Pickering, Ont.) lead the purple and gold as he scored both of Laurier’s goals in the game, opening the scoring halfway through the first frame and continued to give the Hawks' the advantage, as he picked up his second of the night at the beginning of the next 20.

Western responded quickly in the second period as Scott Teskey (Toronto, Ont.) got Western on the board, making the game 2-1 in Laurier's favour.

It was the third period that secured Western's 3-2 victory, due to a pair of power play goals from Robert Polesello (Orangeville, Ont.) and Cody Brown (Wasaga Beach, Ont.).

Now alone in second place in the OUA West Division, the Golden Hawks (5-2-1) prepare for their next matchup against the seventh team in the division, the Brock Badgers (2-4-2). The Hawks will host the badgers at Sun Life Financial Arena next Friday, November 10th. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m. and the game can be seen live on OUA.tv.
