Following that season, she was honoured as the OUA Women’s Lacrosse Most Outstanding Player, and was further recognized as an OUA First Team All-Star, as well as earning an OUA Academic Achievement Award and being named the Hawks’ most valuable player. Moreover in her fourth season with the Golden Hawks, Burnett earned the third OUA Academic Achievement Award of her career. During her final season with the Hawks in 2012, Burnett’s graduating year from interuniversity sport saw her as the OUA Women’s Lacrosse Defensive MVP, a First Team All-Star, and as the team’s most valuable player.
Following her time at the World Cup, Burnett will return to Laurier in the fall for the 2017-18 women’s lacrosse season as the Hawks’ Associate Coach, and is looking to help the team repeat the bronze medal win they captured at the OUA Championships last season.
