After starting 2017 with three straight losses, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks have bounced back nicely as they have won three consecutive contests. The purple and gold will look to continue their winning ways this Saturday as they open up a three-game road trip against the Waterloo Warriors.

- Laurier posted two wins last week, defeating the Warriors 10 days ago before rallying to defeat the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday
- the victories give the Hawks 10 wins on the season, surpassing their total of nine from a year ago
- Laurier sits alone in second place in the OUA West division, two and a half games behind the Windsor Lancers
- Waterloo enters the game on a two-game losing skid and now sit with a 5-8 record this year, tied for third in the OUA West division
- the purple and gold have been an offensive juggernaut this year, sitting in fourth place in the conference, averaging 69.8 points per game
- Laurier’s strength lies in their ability to get to the free throw line, as they lead the OUA in both attempts and makes this season by a wide margin
- the Warriors, in the midst of one of their better seasons in recent years, have done it with their defence, as they are seventh in the OUA allowing just 62.7 points per game

Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (10-5)

G Nicole Morrison (Hamilton)
- the fourth year guard was outstanding for the purple and gold last week in her return from injury, earning Laurier’s Female Athlete of the Week honours
- averaged 19.0 points per game to move into seventh in OUA scoring, now averaging 15.1 points per game this year
- needs just 14 points to surpass Christa Mancino for fourth place on Laurier’s career scoring list

G SARAH DILLON (Welland, Ont.)
- fourth year guard had one of the best weeks of her season for the Hawks, helping them extend their win streak to three games
- averaged 11.0 points per game in Laurier’s two wins, including a season-high 14 points against the Warriors, while shooting over 50 percent from the floor

Waterloo Warriors (5-8)

G Kristen Osborne (Markham, Ont.)
- fourth year guard and team’s leading scorer had a team-high 13 points in the Warriors loss to the Hawks last week

G Alphia Ward (Beaumont, Alta.)
- rookie guard scored a career-best 12 points in 21 minutes off the bench for Waterloo against the purple and gold last Wednesday
