Coming off a 2-1 loss to the UOIT Ridgebacks the Laurier Golden Hawks are looking to get their first win of the season with games on back to back games against the Windsor Lancers and the Western Mustangs.

-    Laurier’s women’s hockey team is off to their worst start in the RICK OSBORNE era
-    The Golden Hawks have been battling injuries this season and have yet to have a full roster in their first three games
-    Windsor comes into the game on Friday night with a 1-0-3-0 (W-OTW-OLT-L) early in this season
-    Western comes into the game with a 1-1-2-0 (W-OTW-OLT-L) record so far this season
-    The last time Western and Laurier played in a meaningful women’s hockey game was back on February 6, 2016 when the Golden Hawks won 2-1 in overtime

#39 Jaden Head, Forward – The rookie forward out of Brooklin, Ont., has played in two out of the three teams contests this year. While not notching any points she has turned heads with her ability to create open space in the offensive zone with her passing and quick hands.

#2 Jessica Prevette – In three games this season the Mississauga, Ont., native has notched one goal and one assist on the season. The lone goal coming on the penalty kill, Prevette has proven to be a force with the Golden Hawks with her ability to play on special teams and also be an effective fore checker in 5-on-5 scenarios.

#10 Krystin Lawrence – Through four games so far with the Lancers, Lawrence has recorded three goals and two assists good enough to tie her for third in both goals and points. Lawrence has proven to be a force so far for the Lancers this season and will be the player to watch on Friday night.

#27 Lyndsay Kirkham – Like Lawrence of the Windsor Lancers, Kirkham is also tied for third in the OUA in both goals and points. She has already matched her goal total from her rookie season in 2015/2016 where she recorded 3 goals and 9 assists in 24 games with the Mustangs. She will be the Western player to watch on Saturday afternoon.
