WBASK looks to end two-game losing skid

THE SKINNY
Following a pair of tough losses last week, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (6-7) look to return the win column this weekend as they take on a pair of OUA East division foes, the No. 5 Ryerson Rams (10-3) and the Toronto Varsity Blues (5-7).

NEED TO KNOW
- Laurier comes into this week on a two-game losing streak after suffering losses to the Windsor Lancers and the Toronto Varsity Blues last week
- the Rams, meanwhile, are riding a three-game winning streak highlighted by a come-from-behind 74-67 victory over the Brock Badgers on Wednesday
- for Toronto, they enjoyed a successful trip up to Northern Ontario last weekend as they swept the Nipissing Lakers and the Laurentian Voyageurs
- the Hawks will be looking to snap a three-game losing skid against Ryerson dating back to the 2012 season
- Laurier has won two-straight games against Toronto, including a big 22-point victory on home court a year ago

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (6-7)

G Nicole Morrison (Hamilton)
- the third year guard continues to establish herself as one of the top players in the country with another pair of strong games last weekend
- now averaging 15.8 points per game, fifth best in the conference, Morrison is coming off a week in which she averaged 19 points and four rebounds per game

G Sarah Dillon (Welland, Ont.)
- one of head coach PAUL FALCO’s first options off the bench, this third year guard is playing her best basketball of the season having scored in double figures in each of the Hawks last four games
- now third in team scoring at 9.4 points per game, Dillon had 11 points in each of Laurier’s games last week and is now shooting 37 percent from three-point range, 10th best in the conference

Ryerson Rams (10-3) - No. 5 in Canada

G Keneca Pingue-Giles (Winnipeg)
- currently second in league scoring, the fifth year guard is averaging 18.5 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game and 3.8 assists per game

F Sofia Paska (Etobicoke, Ont.)
- the most efficient shooter in the OUA, the second year forward is averaging nearly a double-double of 15.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting 55.5 percent from the floor

Toronto Varsity Blues (5-7)

G Rashida Atkinson (Scarborough, Ont.)
- the third year guard has been the Varsity Blues most consistent scorer this season averaging 12.5 points per game

G Diedre Edwards (Ancaster, Ont.)
- the third year guard is currently enjoying her best stretch of basketball this year as she’s reached double-figures in four straight games
