WBASK aims for third straight win vs Warriors

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (2-2) will be looking for their third consecutive victory on Saturday as they travel across University Ave. to face the Waterloo Warriors (0-4) in the first installment of the Battle of Waterloo this season.

- the Hawks enter their third week of the season riding a two-game winning streak after sweeping the Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., last weekend
- Waterloo is winless through their first four games of the year following defeats to both Toronto and Ryerson on the road last week
- Laurier is on an impressive 13-game winning streak against the Warriors which dates back to February, 2009
- last season, the Hawks captured both meetings with Waterloo, winning by an average of 14 points per game
- Laurier currently ranks seventh in league scoring, averaging 69.8 points per game while the Warriors are 14th, averaging 56.3 points per game

Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (2-2)

G Kaitlyn Schenck (Kitchener, Ont.)
- the Hawks fourth year guard comes into the weekend as Laurier’s reigning Female Athlete of the Week
- Schenck had a big weekend for the purple and gold, averaging 14 points per game against Algoma and has scored in double figures in each of Laurier’s four games this season

G SARAH DILLON (Welland, Ont.)
- the third year guard has been a sparkplug off the bench for the Hawks so far this season
- one of the Hawks top threats from three-point range, Dillon is averaging nearly 11 points per game while averaging just over 21 minutes a contest

Waterloo Warriors (0-4)

G Kristen Osborne (Markham, Ont.)
- currently the Warriors leading scorer, the third year guard is Waterloo’s leading offensive threat as she’s averaging 13.3 points per game

F Nicole Schlick (Prince George, B.C.)
- the second year forward will be a presence in the paint for the Warriors as she’s averaging 7.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game
