THE SKINNY
With the midway point of the season upon them, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks look to further solidify their playoff positioning when they face the No. 3 York Lions and the Western Mustangs this week.

FAN PROMOTIONS
- Sunday’s soccer doubleheader vs Western is Laurier Student Dollar Day. Admission for all Laurier students is just one dollar for the doubleheader

NEED TO KNOW
- the Golden Hawks enter this week’s games after they had their three-game winning streak snapped by the No. 7 McMaster Marauders last Sunday
- Laurier currently sits fifth in the OUA West division, just two points behind the Guelph Gryphons (5-3-1) for fourth place
- York comes into this week after suffering their first loss in nearly two years last Saturday, dropping a 1-0 decision to the No. 5 Windsor Lancers
- The Mustangs come into this weekend struggling as they have just one win in their last six games

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (4-3-2)

D Brady Kelly (Guelph, Ont.)
- the third year defender has been a solid piece of Laurier’s defensive effort over the past four games, a stretch that has seen the Hawks give up just two goals
- Kelly has also chipped in on offence, scoring his first career goal last Friday against the Brock Badgers

MF Leonardo Leone (Oakville, Ont.)
- the rookie midfielder has provided head coach MARIO HALAPIR with a strong presence in the middle of the pitch this season
- starting four games this season, Leone has provided some good secondary offence for the Hawks as he ranks second on the team in goals with two

York Lions (6-1-1) - No. 3 in Canada

F Michael Cox (Calgary)
- the fourth year striker has been the Lions primary offensive threat in 2015 as he leads the team in goals with five

GK Colm Vance (Bradford, Ont.)
- starting all eight of the Lions games this season, Vance has posted a solid 0.75 goals against average, tied for fifth in the OUA

Western Mustangs (3-5-2)

MF Parker Seymour (Toronto)
- despite their struggles recently, the Mustangs have shown this season a propensity for scoring goals and leading the way is Seymour who has five goals for Western this year

F Christian Douglas (Oakville, Ont.)
- the fourth year forward found the back of the net for the first time this season last weekend as he scored the Mustangs lone goal in their 3-1 loss to York
