WATERLOO, Ont. (October 16, 2014) – The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women's basketball teamd headed to Halifax, Nova Scotia as they continued through a string of exhibition games that brought them to Wednesday night's 74-69 loss to the Saint Mary's Huskies.

The Hawks responded in the second with a tighter defence to even the play and the Hawks went nearly shot for shot with the Huskies throughout the quarter.
The Huskies maintained a 19-point lead going into the second half, but the Hawks were still rallying. Finally looking in good form and making the shots missed in the first half, the Hawks narrowed the Huskies lead back down to 15 points in the third quarter and improved again in the last.
SARAH DILLON (Welland, Ont.), Samantha Jacobs (Enniskillen, Ont.), and Lee Anna Osei (Toronto, Ont.) stood out for the Hawks on the court, especially in the final quarter when Laurier gained significant ground to end the game 74-69, a mere five points behind the Huskies.
