WLAX announces open tryout dates

WATERLOO, Ont. (August 25, 2014) – Women's lacrosse head coach LYNN ORTH announced today the tryout schedule for the 2014 season.

For those returning athletes as well as those wishing to try out for the women’s lacrosse team, there will be informal practices being held starting Wednesday, August 27 and continuing through until Friday, August 29 at University Stadium. Each session will run from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Formal preseason camp will follow the informal practices on Tuesday, September 2nd and Wednesday, September 3rd from 2-4 p.m. at the Stadium.

During the regular season the practice schedule will run on the following timetable, starting on Tuesday, September 3:
Monday - 4-5:30 (STADIUM)
Tuesday - 6:30-8am (STADIUM)
Wednesday - 4-6 (ALUMNI FIELD)
Thursday - 6:30-8am (STADIUM)
Friday - 2-4(STADIUM)

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MEDICAL INFORMATION:

Incoming first year student athletes (including freshmen, transfer students, and WLU students not in first year who have not participated in an interuniversity sport) are required to have completed by a physician, The Initial Health Assessment Form, before he participates in an interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. Returning student athletes are required to complete The Veteran Athlete Health Assessment Form, before they participate in interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. This form updates the student athlete's medical history over the past 12 months. Forms can be found by clicking on the following link:https://www.laurierathletics.com/files/therapy/TF-VET.pdf

Any athlete who has been prescribed any medications must declare them on their medical questionnaire.
