Cross Country tryout dates announced

WATERLOO, Ont. (July 23, 2014) - Cross Country head coach PETER GRINBERGS announced today the open tryouts times for the 2014 season.

Tryouts will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd at 6 p.m.. Interested athletes are asked to meet the team captains 30 minutes beforehand at the Athletic Complex for a 30 minute warm-up run to Bechtel Park. Tryouts will continue on Thursday, September 4th, following the same schedule as Tuesday.

The final open tryout will be held on Sunday, September 7th at 10:30 a.m. at the Athletic Complex. Selected athletes will then be invited to a pre-season meeting Monday September 8 at 9 p.m. in the Athletic Complex.

Incoming first year student athletes (including freshmen, transfer students, and Laurier students not in first year who have not participated in an interuniversity sport) are required to have completed, by a physician, the Initial Health Assessment Form before they participate in an interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. Returning student athletes are required to complete the Veteran Athlete Health Assessment Form, before they participate in interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. This form updates the student athlete's medical history over the past 12 months. Forms can be found by clicking on the following link:

Any athlete who has been prescribed any medications must declare them on their medical questionnaire.
