Looking to get involved in a fun and inspiring club?! The Women's Athletic Association (WAA) is just for you! The WAA is the perfect place to kick that school-work stress to the curb while you meet new people, have fun, and feel inspired to live a healthy, active lifestyle. If you are not one to play on sports teams or live at the gym, you may think the WAA is not for you. WRONG! One of the WAA's main goals is to educate females on what it means to be a healthy and active individual, while shifting away from the long-lasting rumour that you need to be an all-star athlete in order to do so.
WAA empowers women of Laurier to live a healthy and active lifestyle through fresh, new, and fun ways. Members of the Women's Athletic Association come together to think outside the box and generate various ways to help promote healthy active living, while keeping a balance of both fun and challenging. We encourage the females of Laurier to work together and motivate one another to achieve the goals set out. The members of the WAA create strong relationships through multiple active outings including rock-climbing, hot-yoga, ice skating, and much more! In addition, WAA offers weekly work out dates in the AC where girls can come together and work out together, supporting each other along the way.
Not only do the females on the WAA help encourage one another, but they also help encourage and support Lauriers female athletes. Members of the Women's Athletic Association have the opportunity to volunteer at Lauriers athletic banquet, raise money at the annual dance showcases, and provide assistance at many other athletic events. WAA also helps give back to the Waterloo community by educating young females about healthy active living through visits to public schools in the area, fundraising for various charitable organizations. Lastly, WAA's famous Live Fit is an event put on once a semester for all girls to join and experience!
Laurier's Women's Athletic Association is a great way to help promote and encourage healthy active living to not only females of Laurier and the Waterloo community, but also to help keep you active while having fun and creating new friendships. What could be better?!
