Fitness Centre Construction Update:
1. 2nd floor & 1st floor concrete has now been poured
2. Roughing in of interior finishes continues
3. Framing & drywall of 2nd floor space has commenced
4. Feature stairwell construction has commenced
5. Electrical & roof work is nearing completion
6. Personal Training Assessment Office framing and drywall has commenced
7. All new equipment, for delivery in mid-August 2013, which will provide an incredible range of experiences for our users
Please note that we have moved our customer service operation to our lower desk (formally our equipment desk) until the Fitness Centre Expansion has been completed. All services will now take place at that location within the Athletic Complex. We also have a staff stationed at our temporary King St. Entrance to ensure facility integrity and security.
Athletic Complex Facility Access
To accommodate the final stages of the expansion process (including our new front entrance) access to the Athletic Complex will be from the east exterior King St. doors (located by the King St. bus stop location). There is signage directing all facility users to our new entrance location which will always be staffed by our customer service team. Arrangements have been made to ensure this transition is as smooth as possible and will meet accessibility needs.
Relocation of Fitness Centre Space & Equipment
We are continuing to offer the opportunity to utilize equipment in a variety of areas within the Athletic Complex. Equipment has been relocated as follows:
Cardio & Circuit Equipment: New location will is our Multipurpose Classrooms (AC 203/205). We are offer bikes, ellipticals, stair climbers and treadmills in the cardio area We are also offering a 14 piece circuit set.
Strength Equipment & Free Weights: New Location will be in Squash Court #1. This area will possesses a full set of dumbbells, 3 flat benches, adjustable benches and 3 full rack platforms complete with bumper weights.

Basketball Gymnasium Maintenance Closure - (June 24th July 27th)
Note: Our basketball gymnasium is being closed for annual maintenance and facility upgrades.
Work/Maintenance taking place includes:
1. Replacing all existing doors within the gymnasium space
2. Resurfacing of the main basketball court
4. Enhancements to our current lighting
5. Work to our nets, curtains and bleachers
6. Installation of a new electrical transformer
7. Upgrades to our storage rooms

Drop-in Gymnasium Time:
The Athletic Complex Gymnasium will continue to have drop in gymnasium time. Please be sure to check https://www.laurierathletics.com/booking/public/booking/calendar.php?group_id=1 for availability. Our basketball gymnasium will be closed from June 24th - July 27th for annual maintenance and upgrades.
