Friends of Football dinner to be broadcast
WATERLOO, Ont. (April 22, 2013) - The Wilfrid Laurier Department of Athletics and Recreation and RogersTV Waterloo Region announced on Monday that the 14th annual Friends of Laurier Football Reception and Dinner Presented by Sun Life Financial will be broadcast on tape delay on Sunday, April 28, Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4.

The event, which is being held on Thursday April 25 at the Waterloo Inn, will feature a keynote address from former Canadian Football League quarterback Damon Allen, a four-time Grey Cup Champion and member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. As well, new Laurier head coach MICHAEL FAULDS will also update the audience on the state of his program leading into his first season with the team beginning in late August.

RogersTV Waterloo Region (Cable 20) will air the event on Sunday, April 28 at 6 p.m., Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m.

Tickets for the event are still available and can be purchased online by visiting www.laurierathletics.com/footballdinner. Last year's event raised $60,000 for the Golden Hawks football program.
