Three Hawks named OUA All-Stars
HAMILTON (February 21, 2013) - Three members of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women's hockey team were honoured on Thursday by the OUA as the conference announced its major award winners and all-stars.

Team captain Fiona Lester of Peterborough, Ont., was named an OUA First Team All-Star while Laura Brooker of Fergus, Ont., and Candice Styles of Orangeville, Ont., were named OUA Second Team All-Stars.

For Lester, this is the second consecutive season that she has been named a first team all-star. The fourth year defenceman had her best season as a Hawk in her final year as she notched career-highs in goals (7) and assists (12) while regularly playing close to 30 minutes a night for head coach RICK OSBORNE.

Brooker earns all-star honours for the third time in her three year career. The goal-scoring forward had 14 goals and 10 assists this season while becoming the just the fourth Golden Hawk to eclipse the 50 goal mark for her career.

As for Styles, this honour marks the first time in her four year career that she has been named to an all-star team. The defenceman, who converted from forward last season, enjoyed an excellent offensive season as she was fifth in the province in scoring with three goals and 13 assists.
