Rogers to broadcast seven basketball games
WATERLOO, Ont. (November 15, 2012) - The Wilfrid Laurier Athletics and Recreation department, along with Rogers TV Waterloo Region, are pleased to announce that seven women's and men's Golden Hawk basketball games will be televised over the course of the 2012-13 season.

Of the seven games being broadcast, six of them will be home events for Laurier, including this Saturday's home games against the Ryerson Rams. All games will be shown on tape delay.

"It's exciting to have Rogers Television continue their dedication to amateur sport with this announcement," commented associate director of business operations Ari Grossman. "Golden Hawk basketball has been an exciting product within the Waterloo Region and we're excited to continue to promote it."

Calling the games this season will be Sean Furfaro, who will hold both hosting and play-by-play roles, as well as Justin Dunk, a former OUA athlete who will be providing colour commentary. Bryan Thiel, familiar to Kitchener Rangers' fans for his work on their broadcasts, will fill in for Furfaro as is required.

Both Laurier teams are coming off successful campaigns that saw the women's program, coached by PAUL FALCO, post a 13-9 regular season record a year ago while the men's team, under the guidance of Peter Campbell, posted a 16-6 record, the best in school history. This season, the women, ranked No. 9 in Canada, got off to a winning start in Kingston as they defeated Queen's 68-64 while the men lost a narrow 83-80 decision to the Gaels.
