Cross Country tryout dates announced

WATERLOO, Ont. (August 15, 2012) - Cross Country head coach PETER GRINBERGS announced on Wednesday the open tryouts times for the 2012 season.

Tryouts will begin on Tuesday, September 4 at 6 p.m. Interested athletes are asked to meet the team captains 30 minutes beforehand at the Athletic Complex for a 30 minute warm-up run to Bechtel Park. Tryouts will continue on Thursday, September 6, following the same schedule as Tuesday.

The final open tryout will be held on Sunday, September 9 with athletes meeting at the Athletic Complex at 10 a.m. and running to Bechtel Park for 10:30 a.m.

Incoming first year student athletes (including freshmen, transfer students,and WLU students not in first year who have not participated in an interuniversity sport) are required to have completed, by a physician, the Initial Health Assessment Form before they participate in an interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. Returning student athletes are required to complete the Veteran Athlete Health Assessment Form, before they participate in interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. This form updates the student athlete's medical history over the past 12 months. Forms can be found by clicking on the following link:

Any athlete who has been prescribed any medications must declare them on their medical questionnaire.
