WATERLOO, Ont. (February 28, 2012) - The Wilfrid Laurier Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that Chris Rudge, Chairman of the 100th Grey Cup in Toronto, will be the keynote speaker at the 13th Annual Friends of Golden Hawk Football Reception and Dinner, Presented by Sun Life Financial, on April 26, 2012.
Rudge has been an active member of the Canadian sporting scene for many years. In 2003, he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canadian Olympic Committee and held the position until his retirement in April of 2010. He was also the chair of the Own The Podium program in 2009 and 2010 which led to Canadas record medal haul at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
More recently, Rudge was selected to oversee the numerous aspects of the 100th Grey Cup Fesitival to be held in Toronto in November of this year. He has also been appointed the Executive Chairman and CEO of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club.

Prior to his involvement in the world of sport, Rudge was the senior executive and member of the Office of the CEO of Quebecor World Inc., which was at the time of his retirement in January 2002, the world's largest commercial printer, employing 43,000 people at 160 plants in 16 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. He has also worked for Web Offset Publications, Maclean Hunter Printing and The Financial Post.
The 13th Annual Friends of Golden Hawk Football Reception and Dinner will be hosted at the Waterloo Inn Conference Hotel in Waterloo, Ont.
