Two Hawks in the Professional Ranks
Two Golden Hawks are continuing to pursue their hockey careers at the professional level.

Team captain Jean-Michel Rizk (Dunham, Que.) signed an ECHL contact with Wheeling. The fourth year forward played his first game with Nailers, registering one shot on net.  Wheeling is currently in sixth place in their conference and fighting for playoff positioning.

Former Hawk Mark Voakes (St. Thomas, Ont.), who played the majority of this season with the ECHL’s Greenville Road Warriors, was called up to the AHL’s Portland Pirates. There he has made an instant impression scoring five goals and picking up three assists in eight games.

"It is great to see Hawk players get opportunities to showcase their talents at the pro level, " said Golden Hawks head coach GREG PUHALSKI.

Laurier finished in second place in the OUA west conference with a 15-7-6 record. They advanced to the post-season where they defeated the UOIT Ridgebacks and fell to the Guelph Gryphons.
