GUELPH, Ont. - The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks forced game three of the OUA quarter-final series when they defeated the Guelph Gryphons 3-0 to tie the series at one. 

The Golden Hawk struck first in this game. Playing with the top line, Kain Allicock (Markham, Ont.) set up team captain Jean-Michel Rizk (Dunham, Que.) in the first period to go ahead 1-0. 

"Right from the drop of the puck, we had better energy," commented Laurier head coach GREG PUHALSKI post-game. "We played great in all aspects of the game." 

Ryan Daniels (Pickering, Ont.) recorded the shutout continuing his great playoff play as he stopped 27 shots on net, while his opponent Andrew Loverock stopped 16 of 18.

Zach Woolford (Rockwood, Ont.) recorded his third of the playoffs at 8:12 of the third for the second purple-and-gold marker of the contest.  Phil Magistrale (Tsawwassen,B.C) added the empty netter to put the game out of reach. 

The Golden Hawks return home for game three of the series against Guelph on Sunday, February 27. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m.
