WATERLOO, Ont. - The Hawks turned their two game losing streak around as they defeated Brock 3-2 on Saturday night. With the win, the Hawks improve to 4-2 while the Badgers drop to 1-3.
Brock's Derek Brochu (Welland, Ont.) scored the lone goal of the first period, assisted by Steve Mullin (Guelph, Ont.) who finished with two assists on the night.Ryan Bellows
(St. Catharines, Ont.) replied with his third goal of the season to tie the game up 1-1 after two periods.
After the second intermission, Hawks coach GREG PUHALSKI
must have said something right as his team soared off the bench peppering 18 shots on Kurt Jory (Brandon, M.B.) to the Badgers one. Their effort paid off as Alexander Poulter
(Broomfield, Co.) and Kain Allicock
(Markham, Ont.) scored just over a minute apart to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead. The Badgers Dan Dooley (Saint John) made good on the Badgers only shot of the period to close the gap to one. They could not muster any more as they fall 3-2.Ryan Daniels
(Pickering, Ont.) turned aside 21 of 23 shots for the win. Kurt Jory made 40 shots in the loss.
The Hawks play again on October 30 against UOIT in Oshawa. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
