WATERLOO, Ont. – Wilfrid Laurier University’s Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce Chuck Ealey as the keynote speaker for the Friends of Football corporate dinner and reception presented by Sun Life Financial.
The 11th annual event will be held Wednesday, April 28th at the Waterloo Inn Conference Hotel with the reception and silent auction starting at 5 p.m. and the dinner commencing at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are available online at www.laurierathletics.com/footballdinner
Ealey is a corporate inspirational speaker who talks about “3 Keys to a Winning Edge” and presently works at Investors Group, a sponsor of Ontario University Athletics. A former football player, he was named the 1972 Canadian Football League Rookie of the Year and Grey Cup MVP with the Hamilton Tiger Cats. He also holds the NCAA record for most consecutive wins as a quarterback when he led the University of Toledo through 35 games from 1969 to 1971.

Over the course of the event’s history, more than $600,000 has been collected as enhancements and support for the Golden Hawk football program.
