WATERLOO, Ont. – Jennifer Armatage
, Head Coach of the women’s rugby team has decided to step down after eight years working with the Golden Hawk program.
Armatage joined the women’s program as an assistant coach in 2003 and assisted for two seasons before taking the reins of the program in 2005. Prior to her involvement at Laurier she was involved with McMaster’s program.
“I would like to thank Wilfrid Laurier for the opportunity to be involved and coach the women’s rugby team for the past eight years,” commented Armatage. “I have great memories with assistant coaches, quality athletes and a fantastic relationship with the men’s program. I wish the future women’s team best wishes and great success.”
Through her years with Wilfrid Laurier she has been acknowledged by her peers being named Coach of the Year in the OUA both in 2005 and 2009 and has helped six of her student-athletes to reach provincial all-star status.

. “I have tremendous respect for her commitment to Laurier rugby and her athletes while balancing her family life and teaching career.”
The search for a new Head Coach will begin immediately.
