WATERLOO, Ont. - A first period goal by Kaley Powers
(Kingston, Ont.) lifted the no. 2 ranked Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks to a 1-0 victory over the visiting University of Toronto Varsity Blues.

The Hawks have now extended their winning-streak to 17 games for a 17-0-0 record while the Blues fall to 8-7-2 on the season.

Both sides failed to capitalize on their man-advantage opportunities as both went 0-5 on the power play. Going into this matchup the Hawks had the best penalty kill in the league, while the Blues had the worst. (Stouffville, Ont.) picked up her league leading eighth shutout of the season by stopping all 21 shots on net. The Blues netminder Kendyl Valenta (Brampton, Ont.) turned aside 37 of 38 in the loss.
