WINDSOR - The Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks Varsity Golf team travelled to Windsor to compete in the Windsor Invitational at Sutton Creek Golf and Country Club. This is the Hawks first tournament of the year and they were determined to get the season off on the right foot.
Ten Players made the trip for the Hawks as the competition is on to make the final team. The team performed well and finished fifth in the tournament.
In the individual competition, Stephen Brown won a bronze medal for the Hawks as he shot a very steady one over par 73. The tournament was won by the University of Waterloo and individually Garrett Rank of Waterloo and Charles Fitzsimmons of Western were the gold medalists. They each they shot even par 72.
The golf Hawks continue to narrow down their team to the final six on Thursday with a qualifying round at Rebel Creek golf club.
