WATERLOO – GoodLife Fitness members from the Waterloo club will find a temporary home at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Athletic Complex starting Thursday, August 28th, 2008.
GoodLife and Wilfrid Laurier expect to see an increase of between 50 and 100 users per day for the duration of the agreement.
The Waterloo club’s existing facility at 140 Columbia Street West is closing and a new location at 270 Weber Street north is being constructed next to their other club, Exclusively Women. Plans for it to open are scheduled to be late in the fall.
“Laurier’s partnership assists a local business in
transitioning to a new facility,” said Director of Athletics and Recreation,
PETER BAXTER. “GoodLife’s brief stay at Laurier will mean a tremendous upgrade
to the complement of the fitness equipment within the Fitness Centre.”
Laurier will receive financial compensation in addition to new equipment from GoodLife for access to the Fitness Centre and other Athletic Complex facilities. In addition they have signed on to a sponsorship and advertising agreement which will be used to support the department’s interuniversity and recreation programming.
GoodLife will be also loaning Laurier equipment to assist
with the increased users in the space. In addition their ‘Group EXercise’
programming will run out of the facility and will be available to members of
the Laurier group fitness programs.
