WATERLOO - Wilfrid Laurier University’s department of Athletics and Recreation, is pleased to announce the appointment of RYAN LANNAN
as the new Facilities Coordinator effective May 12, 2008.
Lannan, a graduate of Laurier’s geography program in 2004, joins Athletics and Recreation from Residential Services where he has been a Residence Life Area Coordinator since 2004.
“Ryan knows our department well,” commented Associate Director Patricia Kitchen. “He has coordinated the Residence Athletic Council since 2004 promoting active and healthy lifestyles through sports and recreation programs and activities.”
Residence Athletic Council, RAC for short, has been a program of significant growth over the last several years offering intramural leagues exclusive to first-year students as well as health and wellness activities and trips promoting active lifestyles.
Ryan will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operations of the Athletic Complex, University Stadium and Alumni Field facilities on Wilfrid Laurier’s campus. He brings his experiences from Residence life where he has managed four residence buildings and is familiar with campus and its operations.
“I am very excited and honoured to join such a welcoming team,” commented Lannan. “You can easily see the passion everyone has for students and Laurier's mission. I am looking forward to getting started and being a strong member of the Athletics Department and the University.”
With many student employees in the department working within the facility operations, Ryan will be a natural fit with his wealth of knowledge and insights into supporting and mentoring students.
