2007 Women's Lacrosse Try-Out Schedule

Informal practices for the Women’s Lacrosse Team begin daily on Tuesday, September 4th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Stadium. As usual, attendance is not mandatory and O-week activities should always come first but it is a great opportunity to get together, sharpen skills and continue the conditioning that players have been working on this summer.

There will be a mandatory meeting on Sunday September 9th at 7:30 pm in the Hawk Lounge (Athletic Complex). Please bring your health form, student number, school address with phone number and postal code, email address, health card and course registration form so as much paperwork can be completed as possible.

Wally Gabler will hold the team's Student Athlete Orientation and Registration session on Sunday, Sept. 9th at 9:00 pm following our meeting.

Note that players are asked to complete the required student athlete health forms. Please see this important information below.

All prospective athletes are welcome!  Coach LYNN ORTH looks forward to seeing some new faces on the field. Please contact her by email (laxorth@aol.com) or cell (519-574-6438) with any questions or concerns. Also, if there is a compelling reason that students will be absent, they are asked to notify Head Coach LYNN ORTH as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MEDICAL INFORMATION:

• Incoming first year student athletes (including freshmen, transfer students, and WLU students not in first year who have not participated in an interuniversity sport) are required to have completed by a physician, The Initial Health Assessment Form.

• Returning student athletes are required to complete The Veteran Athlete Health Assessment Form, before he/she participates in interuniversity sport, which includes the first try-out. This form updates the student athlete’s medical history over the past 12 months.

• Any athlete who has been prescribed with an asthma medication must have the prescribing physician compete the CCES – Abbreviated TUE Form (Therapeutic Use Exemption).

(The above forms can all be found at: http://www.laurierathletics.com/aboutus/therforms.asp
