OTTAWA – The Golden Hawks have arrived in the nation’s capital for the 2006/07 Canadian Interuniversity Sport women’s hockey championships hosted by the University of Ottawa.
The team arrived Wednesday afternoon and had an opportunity to get used to the arena at the University of Ottawa Sports Complex with an hour practice.
Earlier today, head coach RICK OSBORNE
had an opportunity to speak to the program at the press conference.
"We’re happy to be here," he said. "The level of competition in women’s university hockey has increased every year and we are excited to play tomorrow evening."
This evening the all-Canadians and major awards will be announced at the Championship banquet.
Manitoba and McGill will open the tournament at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Following that game, the Hawks will compete against the host Gee Gee’s at 7:30 p.m.
