WATERLOO – The #4 nationally ranked Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (17-2-2) picked up their fifth regular season shutout of the year defeating the Brock Badgers (6-8-3-1) 3-0 at the Recreation Complex Sunday evening.
The win secured first place for the purple-and-gold and a spot at the OUA final four which will take place at the University of Western Ontario in London March 10th and 11th.

. “It was great to see the special teams doing well this weekend. We had in total 5 goals on the power play and that was an area we have been working on as we get closer to the playoffs.”

Rookie net-minder Liz Knox
had a quiet night only being faced with 11 shots throughout the two-hour game. For the Badgers, Sara Kirchner faced 39 shots on net including 20 in the first period of which none she let in.
The Hawks will travel to London to face the Western Mustangs (8-9-1-1) who are one of the teams in the middle pack of the division trying to make the playoffs. Puck drops at 4:00 p.m. The next and final home game of the season is on February 18th against the Waterloo Warriors at 7:30 p.m.
