WATERLOO - The 2006 edition of the Fall Term Recreation Dance Classes wrapped up in fine form Sunday night with a performance of all the dance classes taking place in the Athletic Complex Gyms!
Over 500 enthusiastic spectators came out on a snowy December evening to cheer on and support the recreation participants and their instructors during the term-end Dance Open House. Fall 2006 marked the largest term in the history of the Special Interest programs at Wilfrid Laurier University.
The show opened with a surprise performance by the Hawk Gurlz, and then rolled through 14 energetic and enthralling performances of routines the participants learned and put together since beginning their classes in September.
Special thanks to all who came out and enjoyed the performance, the class participants, all the instructors who put in extra hours to perfect their routines, Dave Baxter
and TED COLLINS
for supplying the sound and curtains, Megan Mackrory
for her work on the program, and especially Natalie Rubino
, our Student Leader Special Interest Coordinator who put the entire evening together.
You can enjoy the Dance Open House again next term on Sunday, April 1st 2007, and if you want to be a part of all the action and strut your stuff, be sure to register for the Winter Term programs. Pre-registration begins online December 27th - Jan. 12th, with registration week January 15th - 18th. The 15th is reserved for those who have pre-registered, and many of the Dance Classes sell out early, so don't be disappointed, register early!
